Hey friend,

In ICSE the English papers follows the following pattern:
1).English literature- two sets of questions from the Drama in syllabus(Merchant of venice).
if you attempt both the sets of these question you will be provided with 2 extra marks.

Then in Prose part,2-3 extracts questions will be asked from the story in syllabus
And then In Poetry part again 2-3 extracts of questions will be asked.

These questions will focus on the content, understanding and the personal response of candidates..

Students are also supposed to write answers in own words.

English 1:

•The candidates will be required to write a composition of about 300 to 350 words from a choice of subject which will test their ability to organise, describe,argue and narrate.

•in second question candidates will have to write a letter from a choice of two subjects requiring either a formal or an informal mode of treatment.Special attention must be paid to the format of the letter with emphasis on the vocabulary appropriate to the context.

•in question 3 candidates will be giving specific situation and will be required to write a notice or an email.

•In question four candidates are required to solve and unseen passage.

• The last question will be on grammatic exercises.
