okay, so first of all we gonna find zero of x-a
Therefore, x= a

We will substitute a in the poly.
p(a)- 5(a)-(a)³(a)²+2(a)+a-3
5a-a^5+2a+a-3
5a+2a+a-a^5-3
8a-a^5-3
.
since the remainder ain't zero , x-1 isn't a factor of p(a)

Ney13: I just wanna ask if this question is from ncert or not?
Ney13: ohk
