[Assuming that the question is to find what fraction of the original amount did the daughter get.]

As the original amount is Rs. 26,000

1/5 of it went to the son.

So, the amount left with the man is

= 26,000 - (1/5 of 26,000)

= 26,000 - 5,200

= Rs. 20,800

Out of this new amount, 2/5 of it went to the daughter.

Therefore, the amount went to the daughter

= 2/5 of 20,800

= Rs. 8,320

Now, what we have to do here is that we must find what fraction of Rs. 26,000 does Rs. 8,320 form.

So, through brute-forcing (since I don't really remember the method to solve the above underlined problem), we found out that 32% of Rs. 26,000 is Rs. 8,320.

And 32 percent in fraction form = 32/100 = 8/25

Therefore, the man gave 8/25 of Rs. 26,000 (his original amount) to his daughter.

Hope this helps!

Creature101: Sorry, don't understand what 'options is not' means. And if the answer is wrong, can you tell where I went wrong? (I can edit it, so that no one copy-pastes this wrong answer)
akhil5268: no no soory
akhil5268: there in option
akhil5268: kkkkkk
Creature101: This was a multiple- choice question? (Then you could have shown the options as well, as there was no need of the working). But if you understood how it is done, then my effort was not wasted.
