- to differentiate between biodegradable and non biodegradable waste -Biodegradable waste is a type of waste which are decomposed by natural biological agents. whereas Non biodegradable waste is a type of waste which can't be decomposed.

Explanation:

- dig the pit and put both biodegradable and non biodegradable waste inside it and cover them with the 15 cm of soil. - the biodegradable waste material i. e the kitchen waste etc was found to be decomposed but the non biodegradable waste i. e the broken footwear and torn clothes etc did not found to be decomposed. - Hence it is proved that biodegradable waste an be decomposed but non biodegradable waste can't be decomposed
