Zinc metal is more reactive than copper. Some of the zinc metal of zinc plate dissolves and displace copper from copper sulphate solution. This dissolving of zinc metal form tiny holes in zinc plate. Blue colour of copper sulphate solution gets lighter and lighter due to the formation of colourless zinc sulphate solution.

This is because magnesium is more reactive tan zinc, and so it has a higher tendency to form positive ions than zinc. Hence zinc cannot replace the magnesium ion in the compound, whereas if it were the other way around it would definitely be possible.
reaction in testube c
zinc is less reactive than sodium, thus no reaction takes place when zinc granules are treated with sodium chloride. Sodium zincate and hydrogen gas are formed when zinc granules are treated with sodium hydroxide and water.
