Answer:

x - 1/x = 1/6--(1)

Step-by-step explanation:

on squaring both sides , we get

x^2 + 1/x^2 -2(x)(1/x) = 1/36

x^2 + 1/x^2 = 73/36

x^2 + 1/x^2 -2(x)(1/x) + 2(x)(1/x) = 73/36

(x + 1/x)^2 = 73/36 + 2

(x+ 1/x) = √(145/36) = 12/6 = 2 (approx.)

now Use Identity :

a^3 + b^3 = (a + b)^3 - 3ab(a + b)

x^3+1/x^3=(x + 1/x)^3 - 3(x)(1/x)(x + 1/x)

x^3 + 1/x^3 = (2)^3 - 3(1)(2)

= 8 - 6 = 2 Answer
