p(x)= 4x³+16x²-23x-5x

and

f(x) = 2x-3

g(x)= 2x-3= 0

=> 2x =3

=>x = 3/2

now,

as we know if f(x) is the factor of p(x) then its remainder will be zero.

so,

p(3/2) = 4(3/2)³ + 16(3/2)² -23(3/2)-5(3/2)

= (27/2) + 12 -(69/2) -(15/2)

= (27 +24 -69 -15)/2

= -33/2

hence, its remainder is (-33/2).therefore its not the factor of p(x).
