gd =  \frac{G2Mm}{ 2R^{2} }  =  \frac{2(GMm)}{4 R^{2} } =  \frac{1}{2}  \frac{GMm}{ R^{2} }
   = \frac{1}{2} g
Acceleration the that planet will be half of that on earth...about 4.9 m/s2

Acceleration due to gravity got halved of original. This is because when mass and radius are doubled, then due to its bigger size and mass it gravitational acceleration is slow.
We ca understand this when we take bigger planet than earth.
