Area of the given triangle =1/2*base*height

=(1/2*4*3)cm^2

=6cm^2

Now, since AC and AB are perpendicular and base respectively

By Pythagoras theoram

(perpendicular) ^2+(base) ^2 =(hypotenuse) ^2

=(BC )^2=(4)^2+(3)^2

=BC=√16+9

=BC = 5cm

Now when the base is BC we have the corresponding height AD

So we have

Area =6cm^2

and Base =3cm

Then height =2*Area/base

=2*6/3=4cm

So, AD=4cm
