3. Intransitive

4. Intransitive

5. Transitive

6. Intransitive

7. Transitive

8. Transitive

9. Intransitive

10. Transitive

Explanation

For determining whether the verb is transitive or intransitive, you have to ask the question words, "what" or "whom", to the verb. If you get an answer when you ask those words to the verb, that means that the verb is transitive. If not, the verb is intransitive.

For example:

Example 1

The train arrived late.

Here, arrived is the verb.

Q. The train arrived what?

Ans. No answer.

Q. The train arrived whom?

Ans. No answer.

BUT

Q. The train arrived how?

Ans. Late.

Hence, arrived is intransitive verb as it does not give us the answer with "what" or "whom".

Example 2

Robert has booked the flight tickets.

Here, booked is the verb.

Q. Robert has booked what?

Here, we get the answer.

Ans. The flight tickets.

Hence, booked is transitive verb as it gives us the answer with "what".

PLEASE NOTE:

ONLY WHAT OR WHOM QUESTION WORDS SHOULD BE USED TO ASK THE VERB. IF YOU ASK WITH OTHER WORDS, i.e., HOW, WHEN, WHERE, etc. TO GET THE ANSWER, THAT MEANS THAT, THAT VERB IS INTRANSITIVE.
