my frnd u can even find the remainder using the remainder theorem
remainder theorem states that any polynomial p(x) is divided by a linear polynomial (x - a) then the remainder will be equal to p(a)....
in the question
g(x) = x - 1/2 so a = 1/2
p(x) = x^3 - 12x^2 + 14x - 3
p(a) = (1/2)^3 - 12(1/2)^2 + 14(1/2) - 3
= 1/8 - 12(1/4) + 7 - 3
= 1/8 - 3 +4
= 1/8 + 1
= 1/8 + 8/8
= 9/8
