Answer:

Many countries of Asia and Africa were subjugated economically and politically. These countries became a source of raw material to feed the nascent industries of Europe. The surplus goods produced in industries of Europe were exported overseas markets of Asian and African countries to get huge profits. Thus the colonies were turned into sources of raw materials and markets for finished goods, all for the benefit of mother country
