you add these to equations what we will get is

a + b + c+ d +e =0

and this polynomial can satisfy this equation if we put x=1

that means x=1 is one of the the roots

now , subtract these two equations what we will get is,

a + b +c - (b + d) =0

and this polynomial can satisfy this equation when we put x= - 1

that means x=1,x= -1 both are the roots of this equation

hence this polynomial is divsible by (x-1)*(x+1) = x^2 -1

and if anybody asks you whether  this polynomial is divisble by x-1 and x+1 then answer is true
