H3C-CO-CH3

Note that for forming least molecule of ketone, minimum 3 Carbon atoms are required

The carbonyl group(=CO) is attached to Alkyl groups on both sides of carbonyl Carbon atom

IUPAC NAME : 2 - propanone

This can be also called as "Acetone"


Second Member of Ketone:
CH3-CH2=CO-CH3

It is called Butanone

This can also be called "ethyl methyl ketone"
