Given triangle is a right angled triangle,therefore,

By Pythagoras Theorem,

(longest side) ^2= 40^2 + 9^2

 {(hyp.)}^{2}  =  {(s1)}^{2}  +  {(s2)}^{2}

= 1600 + 81

= 1681

longest side = root of 1681

Longest side = 41cm

2. Given triangle is right angled triangle, therefore,

By Pythagoras theorem,

 {(hyp.)}^{2}  =  {(s1)}^{2}  +  {(s2)}^{2}

hyp^2 = 20^2 + 21^2

= 400 + 441

= 841

hyp. = root of 841

hyp. = 29cm

Perimeter of triangle = 20 + 21 + 29

= 70cm
