ANSWER:

Given: ∠B = 65°∠C = 45°DAE ∥ BC

The given lines are parallel.

∴ x° = ∠B = 65° (alternate angles when AB is taken as the transversal )

y° = ∠C =45° (alternate angles when AC is taken as the transversal )

∴ x = 65 y =45

Step-by-step explanation:

Mark an angle corresponding to x and give the name a, which will be next to 50 and will form a linear pair and will be supplementary ( 180 in measure)

a + 50 = 180 ( supplementary angles)

a = 180 - 50 = 130

a = x = 130 ( corresponding angles are equal)

corresponding angles occupy same positions of angle at the other point of the transversal All the four angles formed at one of the point of transversal is equal to all the four angles at the other point of intersection with the parallel line)

In the same way as above solve the angle y as well.

Mark an angle corresponding to y and give the name b, which will be next to 65 and will form a linear pair and will be supplementary ( 180 in measure)

b + 65 = 180 ( supplementary angles)

b = 180 - 65 = 115

b = y = 115 ( corresponding angles are equal)

I hope it helps.
