Answer:

The side of the square is 1 unit.

Step-by-step explanation:

By Pythagoras Theorem,

(side)²+(side)²=(diagonal)² [In the case of a square]

=> (x+1/2)²+(x+1/2)²=(3-x/root 2)²

=> (x²+1+2x+x²+1+2x)/4=9+x²-6x/2

=> 2x²+2+4x/4=9+x²-6x/2

=> x²+1+2x=9+x²-6x

=> 8x=8

=> x=1

Hope it helps....
