Therefore a= 40 corresponding angles

x+a =180. Angles in linear pair

X+40=180

X=180-40

X=140

Let p and q be parallel and s be the transversal

B=70. Vertically opposite angles

Y + B =180 angles on one side of transversal

Y+70= 180

Y=180-70

Y=110
