The line which shows level of glycogen is X.

Whereas Y indicates level of insulin and Z indicates level of Glucose.

Explaination:

After having meals, the food is ultimately broken down into glucose by amylases (both salivary and pancreatic). This increases the level of glucose in blood which is indicated by Z.

This activates the beta cells of islets of langerhans in pancreas to produce peptide hormone insulin, whose function is to decrease glucose level in blood (hypoglycemic hormone). Thus when glucose level is high, insulin level is also high which is indicated in Y.

After reaching an equilibrium, Glucagon (hormone) is produced from alpha cells of islets of langerhans of pancreas which helps in production of glycogen (storage polysaccharide). Thus glycogen increases gradually which is indicated in X.

Thanks!
