Answer:1.y=5, x=8

2.y=4,x=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

1.

Multiplying eqn.1 by 3 and eqn. 2 by 5

We get

15x-3y=105

15x+10y=70

Subtracting eqn.4 by eqn.3

7y=35

So y=5

Substituting y=5 in any of equation we get x=8

2.

Multiplying eqn 2 by 7 and subtracting from eqn 1

4x +7y=20

21x+7y=-2

We get x=-2

Substituting x=-2 in any of above equation we get y=4
