Let the required number be x.

Therefore:

 \frac{2x}{3}  - 1 = 1

Using transposition:

 = >  \frac{2x}{3}  = 2

Using Cross multiplication:

 =  > 2x = 6

 =  > x =  \frac{6}{3}

  =  > x = 2

Therefore the required no. is 2.
