In a right angled triangle, the length of the median of the hypotenuse is half the length of the hypotenuse

Step by step answer:

Center of  circumcircle  of right angled triangle is the mid point of hypotenuse.

From the figure attached with this answer shows that a right angled triangle ABC, right angled at B and AC is the hypotenuse.

O is the midpoint of AC then OA = OC

AB is the median of the hypotenuse.

From the figure we can see the circumcircle  of triangle ABC.

The center of circumcircle  is 'o'.The circle passes through vertices of  A,B and C. Therefore,

OA = OB = OC

OB is the median.

Therefore,  the length of the median of the hypotenuse is half the length of the hypotenuse
