Hey dear Good Morning !!!

Here is your answer...

A sharp knife has a very thin edge to its blade. A sharp knife cutsobjects better because due to its very thin edge, the force of our hand falls over very small area of the object producing a large pressure. And this large pressurecuts the object easily. On the other hand, a blunt knife has a thicker edge.

Hope it helps !!!

1. It is easier to cut with a sharp knife than a blunt one because the surface area of edge of blunt knife is greater than the surface area of edge of a sharp knife. As we know , if we increase the surface area then the pressure decreases , as surface area of edge of a blunt knife is greater than the surface area of the edge of a sharp knife. So, the pressure applied by a blunt knife is less than the pressure applied by a sharp knife. In order to maintain the pressure we have to apply more force from a blunt knife. That's we apply less force from a sharp knife. So, we feel that it's easier to cut with a sharp knife than a blunt one

2. Porters place a round piece of cloth on their heads , when they have to carry loads because when they place a cloth on their head then the surface area increases on which they place any object. As the force applied by the object that is on their heads will be constant but with an increase in surface area there will be less pressure on their heads.

So, to get relief from high pressure they keep a round piece of cloth on their head.
