To get denominator 5 we divide - 48/60 by 12 on both sides.

-48 ÷ 12/60 ÷ 12

= - 4/5

Hence , the required answer is -4/5.

sgm232004: just see the denominator, it is 60
sgm232004: only when u divide 60 by 12 , u will be getting 5
sgm232004: first, divide 60 by 5, u will get 12
sgm232004: then use 12 on the denominator and the numerator

We have to express the given number in denominator of 5.

-48/60

divide numerator and denominator by 12 to get

= -48÷12/ 60÷12

= -4/5 ans.
