Given here

two point are (x,7) and (1,15)

distance between these point = 10.

So,

using Formula

distance between two point

10 = [(x-1)²+(7-15)²]

=>Squaring both sides

100 = (x-1)²+(-8)²

=>(x-1)² = 100-64

=>(x-1)² = 36

=>(x-1) = ±36

=>x = ±36 +1

Now take here +ve sign and -ve sign

So, first take +ve sign

=>x = 36+1

=>x = 37

Now ,take -ve sign

=>x = -36+1

=>x = -35

Thus:-

value of x will be

37, or -35

Thats answer

Step-by-step explanation:

Given points

(x, 7) (1,15)

Distance between two points

=√(x2-x1) +(y2-y1)

10= √(1-x) ^+(15-7) ^

10 = √(1+x) ^-2x+64)

10=√(x^-2-2x+65)

squaring to each other

100 = x^ -2x +65

x^ -2x - 65 -100 = 0

x^ -2x -35 = 0

x^ -7x -5x -35 = 0

x(x-7) + 5(x-7) = 0

(x+5) +(x-7) = 0

x+5=0 , x-7=0

therefore, x= -5 , y= 7

hope it helps
