Subject: The need for academic courses on Travel and Tourism.
Sir,
Through your esteemed newspaper I would like to express the importance of introducing more academic courses relating to travel and tourism.
India is besieged by unemployment not in the sense of being uneducated or unemployable but due to shortage of avenues for employment. For instance, when an employment newspaper advertises applicants for 20 posts in a Central Government job, the posts would be competed for by several thousands if not lacs.
India is a favourite spot for tourists for its historical heritage, diverse cultural attraction, and many more things. The problem is that we have not yet utilised the potential of the tourism industry which could have reduced the rate of unemployment to a great extent.
It is the obligation of the Education Department to introduce more academic courses on travel and tourism. Given the proper education and training, our youth will be equipped to venture into the travel and tourism industry and have successful careers.
I earnestly hope to see the bloom of travel and tourism industry sooner than later so that the economy of the nation will be boosted.
