Step-by-step explanation:

Since 18 is a very small integer , you can use iterative method using integers .

lets start with 0, 3^0–3^-1=0.66.

using 1, 3^1–3^0=2.

using 3 , 3^3–3^2=18.

but however iterative method is time consuming. we can take some help from LAW OF INDICES”

a^(b+c) = a^b. a^c.

so ,

3^x-3^x.3^(-1)

take 3^x cmmon, 3^x(1–3^(-1 ))

3^-1 is 1/3 or 0.66.

3^x(1–1/3)=18

3^x(2/3)=18

3^x=27

represent 27 as number of 3’s, 27=3*3*3.

3^x=3^3.

x=3.

Answer:

3^x - 3^(x-1) = 18

3^x - [ ( 3^x) /3] = 18

✒ 3^x [ 1 - 1/3] = 18

✒ 3^x × 2/3 = 18

✒ 3^x = 18 ×3 /2

✒ 3^x = 27

✒ 3^x = 3^3

X = 3

So x^x = 3^3 = 27
