1)Acid-Base Reactions. When an acid and a base are placed together, they react to neutralize the acid and base properties, producing a salt. The H(+) cation of the acid combines with the OH(-) anion of the base to form water. The compound formed by the cation of the base and the anion of the acid is called a salt.

2)The total number of hydrogen atoms present in one molecule of the acid. Ans: The number of Hydrogen atoms in an aciddepends up on the acid.
3)(a) Turmeric + Soap solution = Red colour.
(b) Lemon juice is acidic in nature,so it turns blue litmus red and shows no change with red litmus paper. (c) Phenolphthalein is an indicator for bases as it turns pink when added to base,and it is colourless to acids.
4)Acid - Base indicators (also known as pH indicators) are substances which change colour with pH. They are usually weak acids or bases, which when dissolved in water dissociate slightly and form ions.
