In ∆ ABC

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Formula used:-

Pythagoras theorem that is

(Base)² + (Perpendicular)² = (Hypotenuse)²

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Base = BC = To find

Perpendicular = AB = 40 cm

Hypotenuse = AC = 41 cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Put the values in formula

⇒(BC)² + (40)²= (41)²

⇒(BC)² = (41)² - (40)²

⇒(BC)² = 1681 -1600

⇒(BC)² = 81

⇒BC =  \sqrt{81}

BC = 9 cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀

✢ BC is breadth of rectangle and BC is side of triangle.

⠀⠀⠀⠀

So, Breadth of rectangle = 9 cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀

☘ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

⇒2 × (40 + 9)

⇒80 + 18

98 cm

⠀⠀⠀⠀

Thus, Perimeter of rectangle is 98 cm.
