Step-by-step explanation:

A prime number is a positive integer that is only divisible by 1 and itself or an integer whose factor is 1 and itself.

Example: 7

7 is divisible by 1 & 7 only

7 = 1*7 (1 & 7 are the factors of 7)

For the problem above, we have to find out what the number is before identifying if it is a prime number.

--> I'm less than 100

All the numbers from 1-99 can be considered.

--> I'm the seatmate of Mr. Half.

Mr. Half is the half of 100 which is 50.

Among 1-99 numbers, we will now choose seatmates of 50.

It could be 49 or 51.

--> I am divisible by 3 and by another odd number.

Let's find which number is divisible by 3.

49/3 = 16 Remainder 1 (not divisible by 3)

51/3 = 17 (divisible by 3)

Is 17 an odd number?

An odd number is a number that cannot be divided evenly into two groups.

17/2 = 8 Remainder 1 (17 cannot be divided evenly into two. It is an odd number)

Answer: 51, not a prime number.
