given:ABCD is quadrilateral

to prove : ar of quad(ABCD)= ar(∆ABE)

proof :

ar(∆ADC)=ar(∆ACE)
by theorem we know that area of ∆s on the Same base and same parallels are equal in area

adding same areas on both sides

•ar(∆ADC) +ar(∆ABC) = ar(ACE) +ar(ABC
•ar of quad(ABCD) =ar(∆ABE)
