3). The angles on the line are 6y°, y° and 2y°.

We know that angles on a line are supplementary. In other words, linear pair of angles must add up to 180 degrees.

Thus, using linear pair,

6y+y+2y=180

9y=180

y=180÷9

y=20.

Now, 6y will be 6×20⇒120°

Similarly, 2×20⇒40°

4.) In the 4th figure, we need to construct a line parallel to QP as well as SR.

See file attached below (I used ms paint for the figure)

Since MN║QP║SR,

∠PQO=∠QON (Alternate interior angles)

And, ∠RSO=∠SON. (Alternate interior angles)

Thus, ∠QON=60°, ∠SON=30°

And, it is very clear that α=∠QON+∠SON.

α=60+30

α=90°
