if momentum becomes four times, the kinetic energy become 16 times the original kinetic energy. KE = P^2/2M where P is momentum and M is mass. Kinetic energy E=p2/2M.Kinetic Energy being proportional to the square of momentum states in this case to be 4²=16 times increase for 4 times increase in momentum.
