An amount of ₹11520 is to be distributed among Rajat, Brij and Sujan such that Rajat gets 3/4 of what Brij gets and sujan gets 2/3 of what Rajat gets. Find the sum of money each gets.

Let the amount that Brij get be x

⇒ Brij = x

Rajat gets 3/4 of what Brij get

⇒ Rajat = 3/4 x

Sujan gets 2/3 of what Rajat get:

⇒ Sujan = 2/3 ( 3/4 x)

⇒ Sujan = 1/2 x

Find the total amount in term of x:

x + 3/4 x + 1/2 x = 9/4 x

Solve x:

9/4 x =11520

9x = 46080

x = ₹ 5120

Find the sum of money each get:

Brij = x = ₹ 5120

Rajat = 3/4 x = 3/4 (5120) = ₹ 3840

Sujan = 1/2 x = 1/2 (5120) = ₹ 2560

Answer: Brij gets ₹ 5120, Rajat gets ₹ 3840 and Sujan gets ₹ 2560.
