Answer:

1) 2.25 Ω  2) 8.25 Ω

Explanation:

ok so between c and d r5 is parallel to the series combination of r2, r3 and r4

so r2+r3+r4=3+3+3=9Ω=r' (r' is combination in series)

and r5=3Ω

combination \frac{1}{rp} (rp is resistance in parallel)

\frac{1}{r'} +  \frac{1}{r5}

\frac{1}{9 } + \frac{1}{3}

\frac{1+3}{9}

\frac{4}{9}

∴ rp = \frac{9}{4} = 2.25 Ω

so equivalent resistance between c and d is 2.25 Ω.

now between a and b

combination in series

r = r1 +rp+r6

r = 3+2.25+3

r = 8.25Ω

so equivalent resistance between a and b is 8.25Ω

i know it is a bit confusing but this is the required solution

hope it helps

Explanation:

between c and d r5 is parallel to the series combination of r2, r3 and r4

so r2+r3+r4=3+3+3=9Ω=r' (r' is combination in series)

and r5=3Ω

the total answer is = 2.25 Ω

so equivalent resistance between c and d is 2.25 Ω.

now between a and b

combination in series

r = r1 +rp+r6

r = 3+2.25+3

r = 8.25Ω

so equivalent resistance between a and b is 8.25Ω
