Here, it's given that
x - y = 70
And, we know that
x + y = 180 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: (linear \: pair \: property)
Now,
Adding both equations, we get

(x - y) + (x + y) = 180 + 70
(x - y + x + y) = 250
2x = 250
x =  \frac{250}{2}
x = 125
So, x = 125

Now, assigning the value of x in equation 1, we get

x - y = 70
125 - y = 70
y = 125 - 70
y = 55

Therefore we get the answer

x = 125
y = 55

Hope it'll help.

here x-y=70°
also x+y= 90°
so adding both,
2x=160°
x=80°
hence x-y=70°
x+y=180
subtracting
-2y= -110
y=55
hence y= 80+55
y=135°
