mass of bullet=m=10g

velocity of bullet=v=400ms-1

velocity of gun=V=?

using formula:

MV=-mv

V=mv/M

V=(10*400)/5000

V=0.8ms-1

but i think the mass of bullet should be smaller than the mass of gun.but you have written 10g bullet and 5g gun that is larger than the gun.
