================

Given:

====

Length of rectangle{l} = 28 cm

Breadth of rectangle{b} = 20 cm

For a rectangle,

the intersection of diagonals are always on the mid-point or centre of the rectangle.

Thus,

the mid point will be (l/2 ,b/2)

the height of triangle is upto the mid point so ...

=> Height of triangle {h} = b/2

= 20/2 = 10 cm

----------------------

Note:

Area of shaded region = Total Area - Area of unshaded part.

Here unshaded part is triangle

and total area is of rectangle.

so we have to find these particular area.

----------------------

=> Area of triangle = ½×base ×Height

= ½× l×h = ½×28×10 = 140cm²

=> Area of rectangle= l×b

=28×20= 560 cm²

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

So the required area of shaded region

= Area of rectangle - area of triangle

= 560-140 = 420 cm² ___(answer)
