what's the shape of box ???
let me assume it as cube ..

I) each dimension is doubled
original TSA = 6a^2
now a is doubled = 2a
new TSA = 6(2a)^2
=6*4*a^2
4(6a^2

the area will be 4 times..

II) Each dimension is tripled
original TSA = 6a^2
now a is tripled = 3a
new TSA = 6(3a)^2
= 6*9a^2
9(6a^2)

the area will be 9 times.

hope it helps

When the dimension is doubled (which is 2 times)

The area is increased (2)² = 4 times

When the dimension is tripled (which is 3 times)

The area is increased (3)² = 9 times

Therefore when the dimension is increased to n time

The area is then increased times
