If x is numerator and y is denominator then we find that

X/y=2/3 --------

3x-2y=0--------(1)

Now we have given a situation that if we substract 2 from the numerator and 8 from the denominator then we got a reciprocal of 2/3

Now we do substract

X-2/Y-8=3/2

=2x-3y= - 20 --------(2)

Now we substract eqn 2 from 1

3x-2y=0 x3

2x-3y= - 20x2

9x-6y=0

4x-6y=-40

=x=8and y=12 is the correct answer
