Let us solve these two equations using algebraic method for solving set of simultaneous equations. 

3 sin θ + 5 cos θ = 5 .............. (1) 
5 sin θ - 3 cos θ = A .............. (2) 

Where A is required to be calculated. 

sin θ = (5A + 15) divided by 34 ................... (i) and 

cos θ = ( 25 - 3A) divided by 34 ...................(ii) 

Squaring both the equations and adding them gives --- 

34 A^2 + 850 = 34^2 

=> 24 A^2 = 306 

=> A^2 = 9 

=> A = ± 3 

=> 5 sin θ - 3 cos θ = A = ± 3
