if you don't understand a particular thing from the ncert then you take help from the reference books. it is your own choice. whichever you prefer you are comfortable with.ncert books are generally from where the questions are given for examination

You should learn from ncert book because the answers of the answer sheet is always confirmEd with the ncert book. also it gives the exact and good information. so there is no use of purchasing guides and study from them.
