top 3 resistances are in parallel

hence p.d.across them is equal

2×1=4×current in 4ohm

0.5=current in 4ohm

since above 4ohm resistances are parallel hence current is same

So total current in above wire is=0.5+0.5+1=2A

You can calculate that the equivalent resistance of above branch is equal to equivalent resistance of lower branch .Hence current is same as both are in parallel

total current is =2+2=4A

the current in 12 ohm resistor is 1A (you can try)

the power drop is i^2R in 12 ohm resistor

total power drop in both is 12+12=24watt
