Heya friend !!

[ For your information , we will do the solution by unitary method ]

So, total percent = 100 %

Population decrease = 12 %

No. of people remain = 1584 .

So, remaining percent = ( 100 - 12 ) %

=> 88 %

Now , 88 % = 1584

 \mathsf{1  \: percent = \frac{1584}{88}}

 \mathsf{100 \:  percent = \frac{1584}{88}×100}

=> 8800 people .

So, 8800 people inhabited the village before the drought .

Hope it helps friend !

Answer:

1800

Step-by-step explanation:

% of Population decreased= 12%

Total population after the deduction= 1584

let, no. of people inhebiting the village before the draught be x

then,  1584= x- 12% of x

1584= x- (12/100)x

1584= (100x - 12x) /100

1584= 88x/100

158400= 88x

1800=x
