Explanation:

  1. Sulphuric acid: Here the two radicals are 2H^+ ions a SO4^2-. Therefore here the acidic radical is SO4^2- and the basic radical is 2H+ ion.
  2. The chromate ion (yellow colour) in acidic medium changes to dichromate ioion cr2o2-7
  3. (orange - red colour). In alkaline medium, reverse happens.
  4. In solution, the dichromate ions convert to chromate ions by the action of a base. Thus chromate ion and dichromate ion exists in equilibrium.
