Solution 7 :

Total measure of two adjacent angles = 140°

Angle 1 = x ( since we dont know it's measure )

Angle 2 = 3 × x = 3x

= x + 3x = 140°

= 4x = 140°

= x = 140° ÷ 4

= x = 35°

Angle 1 = 35°

Angle 2 = 35 × 3 = 105°

Therefore , the two angles are 35° and 105° .

Solution 8 :

Sum of two angles = 90° ( because they are complementary angles )

Total parts the total angle is being divided into = 7 + 8 = 15

Each part = 90 ÷ 15 = 6

Angle 1 = 7 parts = 6 × 7

Angle 1 = 42°

Angle 2 = 8 parts = 6 × 8

Angle 2 = 48°

Therefore , the two complementary angles are 42° and 48° .

Solution 9 :

Sum of two angles = 180° ( because they are supplementary angles )

Total parts the sum of two angles is being divided into = 5 + 7 = 12

Each part = 180 ÷ 12 = 15

Angle 1 = 5 parts = 15 × 5 = 75°

Angle 1 = 75°

Angle 2 = 7 parts = 15 × 7 = 105°

Angle 2 = 105°

Therefore , the supplementary angles are 75° and 105° .

Solution 10 :

Solution (i) :

Angle x and angle 240° are forming a complete angle , which means their sum will be equal to 360° . So :

240° + x = 360°

= x = 360° - 240°

= x = 120°

Therefore , the unknown angle x = 120° .

Solution (ii) :

Angle e , angle 117° and angle 146° are forming a complete angle , which means their sum will be equal . So :

= e + 117° + 146° = 360°

= e + 263° = 360 °

= e = 360° - 263°

= e = 97°

Therefore , the unknown angle e = 97°

Solution (iii) :

= Let us name the unknown angle as ' n ' .

Then ,

= n + 90° + 105° + 25° = 360° ( because angle n , angle 90° , angle 25 ° and angle 105° are forming a complete angle )

= n + 220° = 360°

= n = 360 - 220

= n = 140°

Therefore , the unknown angle = 140° .
