and area of a triangle = 1/2 × b × h

→ 1/2 × 14 × 12 (given)

→84 cm² –eq 1

so now we need to find the area of the whole figure and then subtract the area of unshaded region to find the area of shaded region .

it is given that ABCD is a trapezium.

so area of ABCD = 1/2 × sum of parallel sides × height

→ 1/2 × (10+14) × 12

→ 1/2 × 24 × 12

→ 144 cm² – eq2

Now area of unshaded region = eq2 - eq1

→( 144 - 84 ) cm²

→ 60cm²
