Pls tell me that What is double circulation system & why it is necessary in human beings?

Double circulation is when the same blood passes through the heart twice, once as oxygenated and once as deoxygenated blood. Once, it collects oxygen from the lungs and the other time it deposits $CO_{2}$ and other wastes  into the lungs.
