  • First we want to find the area of the given rectangle :

length of given rectangle = 18 cm

breath of given rectangle = 14 cm

so,

  • ⇒ Area of rectangle = l × b

  • ⇒ Area of rectangle = 18 × 14

  • ⇒ Area of rectangle = 252 cm²

Now we want to cut out the area of semi-circle.

  • ⇒ Area of circle = πr²

  •  \sf{Area \: of \: semicircle = \frac{1}{2} \times  \pi \times r \times r  }

  •   \sf{=  \frac{1}{2}  \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 7 \times 7 =  \frac{1078}{14}  = 77 {cm}^{2} }

SO, The area of given figure is :

  • area of rectangle - semicircle

  • 252 - 77

  • = 175 cm²
