Given:The velocity time graph of a moving body.To find:(i) the acceleration in parts AB, BC and CD.(ii) displacement in each part AB, BC, CD, and(iii) total displacement.

Answer:Consider the attached figure while goingthrough the following steps.

We use the formula,

Acceleration = (final velocity - initial velocity)/2

i) The acceleration in parts AB, BC and CD Acceleration in AB = (30 - 0)/4 = 17.5 m/s

Acceleration in AB = (30 - 0)/4 = 17.5 m/

Acceleration in AB = (30 - 0)/4 = 17.5 m/Acceleration in BC = 0 m/s (The body is at rest)Acceleration in CD = (0-30)/2 = -15 m/s

(ii) Displacement in each part AB, BC, CD

Acceleration in AB = (30 - 0)/4 = 17.5 m/sAcceleration in BC = 0 m/s (The body is at rest)Acceleration in CD = (0-30)/2 = -15 m/s

(iii) Total displacement.Displacement of parts AB + BC + CD = 60 + 120 + 30 = 210m
